Bio

Hi, I am a professional translator with 7 years' experience. My areas of expertise include lifestyle, travel, arts and culture, science and technology, aviation, education, spirituality and community development.

I have translation experience (both Chinese to English and English to Chinese) in press releases, media invitations, website and app contents, lab reports, scripts, transcripts, movie subtitles, speeches, menus, FAQ, posters, flyers and reviews for Nobel Prize winning tech company, media groups, global travel solutions, local institutes and international conferences.

My clients include HMV, TEDx, handy travel app, Hong Kong Science Park tech companies and more.

I am fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Meme. I can write both traditional and simplified Chinese in official wordings, slang wordings and ancient literature wordings (Yes, they are very different, if you are a cantonese native speaker you would know what I mean).

I am also known for the ability of translating with strong cultural awareness and trending sense. Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland Chinese all have their own unique terms and phrases. For example, the word “Cheese” must be translated to 「芝士」、「 起司」and 「奶酪」accordingly, or your target audience won’t understand. It is important to have a translator who can translate with the right phrases, cultural reference and political correctness to get your ideas delivered precisely.

My writing style is flexible. From professional and academic writing to creative and trending topics, I will apply the right tone and appropriate choice of words accordingly, with reference to your preference.

My motto is “Never lost in translation.”
Good communication, thorough understanding of the topic and cross checks are all in the package to ensure the essence of your contents will be retained in the translation.
