I moved to Wales in the summer of 2016 after graduating with a Masters in Translation from the Louvain School of Translation and Interpreting in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. I spent over two years working as a project manager and in-house translator before taking the plunge and start a career as a full-time freelance translator. My interests include, but are not limited to, the following: environment and sustainability (conservation efforts, ethical consumerism, renewable energies…), beauty and lifestyle (skin care, make up, fashion, home decor...), cinema and theatre.
In addition to my preferred areas of translation, I have the following experience:
From English into French
MEDICINE & PHARMACEUTICALS (>15k words): Case clusters and video tutorials for students in diabetology. Clinical Evaluation Exercises (mini-CEX).
From English and Dutch into French
ARTS & MARKETING (>25k words): information and season leaflet for a national dance company, information leaflet and packaging for a new skincare range, advertisement for a whisky company, website of a market-leading crisps manufacturer, employee satisfaction surveys, speakers’ profiles and daily schedules for a number of international conferences.
GENERAL TRANSLATION: (>10k words) birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates, criminal report checks, police records, wills, academic transcripts and degrees.
From French and Dutch into English
MEDICINE & PHARMACEUTICALS (>70k words): hospitalisation and operative reports (cardiology, internal medicine, ICU, A&D), healthcare communication, death certificates, autopsy reports and discharge summaries all relating to an international clinical trial on aortic valve replacements. Pharmaceutical product inserts.
