Source text - English INTRODUCTION
Elizabeth D. Capaldi
Eating is arguably the most fundamental of human activies. Each of us must eat or we die, and we usualy have to eat a number of times each day. In some parts of the globe, obtaining food is the major daily activity. Althought obtaining food is not that much of a problem for the most of us in Western society, our lives still resolve largely around eating and the inevitable results that eating has on our bodies. Concerns over health and nutrition have increased our interest in diet choice, and body appereance is a major focus in our society. Because of the critical role of food in human life, scientists have long investigated both the foods we eat and the eating process itself. Psychologists are certainly no exception. As this books demonstrates, psychologists have contributed by showing how biology interacts with learning and cognitive factors. We do not all react to food in the same way, even at the physiological level, because of our diferent experiences with foods. Illness following eating foods in combination with other, liked foods or eating with people we like can produce longlasting likes. Understanding how experience changes reactions to food can help improve eating habits; this book outlines what psychology has come to understand about the development of eating behaviors.

Elizabeth D. Capaldi

Experience
Years of experience: 7. Registered at ProZ.com: Jul 2018.
I have graduated in Physical Education and I'm in the last year in bachelor's nutrition. I plan to live six months in Portugal to specialize in the field of nutrition and I am interested in working with translation in the areas of health, fitness, education, nutrition, cooking, and travel.
I have been working as a personal trainer for 10 years and in the production and editing of scholarly works. I do not have direct experience in translation, but I would like very much to have the opportunity to start! It will help me financially in my exchange and maybe I would like to continue in this area in the future.
I am a dedicated person, punctual, and very excited to start working with you!
