I live in Parma, Italy. I began to study English at 16 with the help of a girl who was born in Liverpool and lived there until the age of 15. I also attended an English language course by the Linguaphone Institute for one year. At 20 I was an interpreter for a couple of Americans from Seattle who came to Italy to visit their relatives in Parma. We made a trip through Italy that lasted one week.
I have a High School education ("Geometra", that is a technician specialized in construction and land surveying) and attended the University of Parma (Civil Engineering) for two years. Afterwards I worked for various large companies in the construction industry. Among them Bonatti SpA and Incisa SpA, both of which hired me mainly for my knowledge of technical and commercial English.
From 1984 to 1990 I worked full-time as a translator and interpreter for Interconsul, a primary
language services company in Parma. In the next years I did translation works part-time for Interconsul and other clients. I was registered at the Law Court of Parma for sworn-in translations and interpreting.
I have written over 1,500 articles on the Italian Wikipedia and about 20 on the English Wikipedia.
