I first translated for hire in 2009 while I was studying in Paris. There, I worked at the Paris Conservatory Music Library and translated a CV and cover letter for a student. Since then, my studies and interests turned full time to the Arts in the US. My Master's is in Arts Administration with a focus in Fundraising Management, and for the past eight years I have worked full time in the arts while traveling when I can to Paris and Berlin mostly, but also to Montreal, Canada and parts of Italy and Spain. I read French books and magazines and watch French films to keep up my language and am looking to get back into translating French. It is a beautiful language, and I love to consider the nuances of its translation. Recently I have attempted German translation with help from German-speaking friends and Google translate. I am not yet ready to translate German professionally but I would like to be able to someday.
