Freelance translator and interpreter who prides on comprehensive research. My previous education was in International Relations, a multidisciplinary field with connections to the Social Sciences, Economics and Law - as such, it has provided with both specific and general knowledge that has helped me greatly in my work as a translator. I'm also an interpreter with a Masters in Conference Interpreting from an AIIC certified course. I am currently a graduate student in Translation Studies at PUC-Rio.
As a translator, I've done work ranging from literary to technical translation. A highlight of my literary translation experience was the translation of Idries Shah's Reflections into Portuguese. In terms of technical and academic translation and interpreting, I've worked in a variety of fields, including but not limited to: aviation, law, social sciences, psychology, maritime shipping.
The bedrock of my translation practice is comprehensive and deep research. I'm an extremely curious person who is eager to learn about the field of the job I take on - I seek to understand before translating, thus ensuring an idiomatic and quality final text.
