It was great pleasure to get the chance to know you via PROZ. I have very recently finished my PhD in biomedical sciences in Berlin, Germany. I have a masters degree in Biology from the University of Baghdad, Iraq. I also have an extensive experience in the field of environmental sciences, which I gained through working in Nature Iraq (NI), one of the well known NGOs in Iraq. During my work there from 2005 to 2009 I occupied different positions including Technical, Laboratory, and Project Manager. With my experience in biological and environmental sciences, my skills as English/ Arabic translator/interpreter have progressively developed.
I strongly believe and feel that I can be a very active and useful part in your team. I would like to refer to my skills that may enable me to work with you. I have been developed as a translator in a mixture of scientific and social atmospheres. As a student and then as a university teacher, I have always had a lot of joy in translating textbooks for my colleagues and students. As a manager, I have been in charge of translating large reports related to the environment of Iraq, as well as being the reliable interpreter in many conferences.
Regarding translation as a profession, my skills are most remarkable in translating large reports that I translated for national and international bodies. For example (please check my CV), the national reports for biodiversity and national parks in Iraq, issued in collaboration among the Iraqi Ministry of Environment, Nature Iraq, UNEP, UNDP, and IUCN. Also, I have performed an excellent translation task for a German company where I translated a large report related to a feasibility study for constructing a hospital in Saudi Arabis. Overall, while I can work with small or large documents in several professions, my strength in translating large reports in environmental and biomedical fields is well documented.
