Years of translation experience: 1. Registered at ProZ.com: Aug 2018.
I am a French native and fluent English speaker who has been permanently living in the UK since 2005.
I completed my MA in English Literature, History and Linguistics in 2003 at Sussex University in Brighton (Erasmus exchange with Paul Valéry, Montpellier University). An important part of my degree was focused on linguistic studies and translation.
I have a long-life passion for cinema and literature which drove me to write my master's thesis on the subject (« "Les Liaisons dangereuses" by Choderlos de Laclos: the Theatrical and Filmic Adaptations. » ) after which I decided to study for an additional BA in Film Studies which I obtained in 2004.
I moved back to England in 2005. I have since gained 12 years professional experience in the High-Tech industry as a Recruitment Consultant before moving into translation. My experience in recruitment allowed me to acquire fluency in technical and business languages in both French and English.
I provide generalist translation services as well as specialist translation for the technology industry: telecoms, IT, consumer electronics, new technologies.
I translate all sorts of documents including website content, marketing/PR documents, e-learning/training documents, product/job descriptions, business documents, manuals, brochures, etc.
I work with Microsoft Office and SDL Trados Studio. I use Google Drive and Dropbox. I am open to using other type of software/tools.
Each project I work on is treated as a priority and with the utmost attention to detail.
