For 15 years I worked in Environmental Engineering. I was good at my job, and I was perfectly happy with what I was paid for doing it. I made the leap into the unknown and within two months of immersing myself in the world of translation I knew what I wanted to do. Since I had a degree, some postgraduate courses and a PhD, none of which have anything to do with translation, I thought I might as well do something about it.
I have been translating for over 4 years now and I finished my B.A. in Translation, Interpretation and Applied Languages in 2019. I have also got myself into NMT. A dramatic career change? For sure. Regrets? None whatsoever.
