Suction Tube Cleaning System
For cleaning, the suction tubes can be inserted into a washing holder attached to the side of the cuspidor. There’s no need for separate cup for disinfectant, as the disinfectant is simply poured into a dosing cube and the unit measures out the correct solution. The suction tubes are filled with the diluted solution and left to immerse for 2 minutes for thorough cleaning. Immersing is significantly more effective compared to mere flushing of the tubes.

Diachronicle (preamble, July 1851)
My name is Melisande Stokes and this is my story. I am writing in July 1851 (Common Era, or – let’s face it – Anno Domini) in the guest chamber of a middle-class home in Kensington, London, England. But I am not a native of this place or time. In fact, I am quite fucking desperate to get out of here.
But you already knew that. Because when I’m done writing this thing – which, for reasons that will soon become clear, I’m calling DIACHRONICLE – I am going to take it to the very discreet private offices of the Fugger Bank, Threadneedle Street, lock it up in a safe deposit box and hand it over to the most powerful banker in London, who is going to seal it in a vault, not to be opened for more than one hundred and sixty years. The Fuggers, above all people in this world, understand the dangers of Diachronic Shear. They know that to open the box and read the document sooner would be to trigger a catastrophe that would wipe London’s financial district off the map and leave a smoking crater in its place.
Actually, it would be much worse than a smoking crater...but a smoking crater is how history would describe it, once the surviving witnesses had been sent off to the madhouse.
I’m writing with a steel-nibbed dip pen, model number 137B, from Hughes & Sons Ltd. of Birmingham. I requested the Extra Fine Tip, partly to save money on paper, and partly so that I could jab my thumb with it and draw blood. The brown smear across the top of this page can be tested in any 21st-Century DNA lab. Compare the results to what is on file in my personnel record at DODO HQ and you will know that I am a woman of your era, writing in the middle of the 19th Century.
I intend to write everything that explains how I came to be here, no matter how farfetched or hallucinatory it may sound. To quote Peter Gabriel, a singer/songwriter who will be born 99 years from now: this will be my testimony.

I do attest that I am here against my will, having been Sent here from Sept. 8, 1850 and from the city of San Francisco, California (the day before California was granted statehood.)
I do attest that I belong in Boston, Massachusetts in the first quarter of the 21st century. There, and then, I am part of the Department of Diachronic Operations: a black-budget arm of the United States government that has gone rather badly off the rails due to internal treachery.
In the time during which I write this, 1851, magic is waning. The research that DODO paid me to perform indicates that it will cease to function at the end of this month (28 July). When that happens, I will be trapped here in a post-magic world for the rest of my days. The only way anyone will ever know what became of me is through this deposition. While I have managed to land myself in comfortable (by 1851 standards) quarters with access to pen, ink, leisure time and privacy, it has been at the expense of freedom; my hosts would not consider letting me out of the house alone for an evening constitutional, let alone to seek out witches who might help me.
A few comments before I begin. If anyone from DODO ever reads this, for the love of God please add corset-makers to the list of abettors we need to recruit in any Victorian DTAPs . Corsets are intended to be custom-made to conform to the actual shape of a lady’s body, and it’s uncomfortable to have to borrow one or buy one “off the rack,” although servants and poorer women generally do that (but do not lace them tightly, as they must engage in manual labor). Being here entirely on charity, I prefer not to ask my hosts to extend credit for a custom-fit one, but wearing this one (borrowed from my hostess) is just awful. It makes a Renaissance bodice feel like a bikini, I’m not even kidding.
But reader, should you require immediate assurance, without waiting for such analyses, here are some statements that clearly make me either capable of prophecy, or from the future: In 10 years time, the United States of America will be ripped apart by a terrible, 4-year Civil War that is largely but not entirely about slavery. The unionists win and slavery is abolished but then (spoiler alert) the United States President is assassinated. In the 1880’s the world’s first moving picture – an advancement in technology of the Zoetrope – will be filmed, and within 50 years, the “movie industry” will become the world’s most popular source of entertainment. Within less than a century, “movies” will be ubiquitous. Actresses will no longer be equated with prostitutes but will eventually wield the power to influence world policy, and not simply by sleeping with whoever’s in charge (although Eva Peron will take that route in Argentina). If you are Armenian, get out of Turkey. If you are Jewish, get out of Europe.
(Note to self: Gráinne’s complaint includes the observation that these two things – technology and atrocity – have advanced in lockstep. Tristan holds technology to be a buffer against atrocity, but Gráinne would say technology is the cause of atrocity. Must return to this.)
Oh, here’s another spoiler: The Red Sox suffer under the Curse of the Bambino for 86 years but they do eventually get over it. I put that in for Tristan, because he is a Yankees fan. It is for Tristan that I write this.

Jmenuji se Melisande Stokesová a toto je můj příběh. Píši ho během července 1851 (našeho letopočtu, anebo spíš léta Páně) v pokoji pro hosty domu střední třídy ve čtvrti Kensington v Londýně. Nepocházím ale z tohoto místa ani času. Naopak, kurva ráda bych odsud vypadla.
Ale to už je ti známo. Protože až dopíšu tenhle zápis, který jsem z důvodů, které se brzy odhalí, pojmenovala Diakronika, zanesu ho do diskrétní a soukromé banky Fuggerových na ulici Threadneedle Street, zamknu ho do truhly a předám ho nejmocnějšímu bankéři v Londýně, který ho zavře do trezoru, kde si počká dalších sto šedesát let, než ho někdo otevře. Fuggerovi rozumí nebezpečí diakronické trhliny lépe než kdokoli jiný. Rozumí, že kdyby někdo otevřel truhlu a přečetl si zápis předčasně, přineslo by to pohromu, která by s londýnskou finanční čtvrtí udělala krátký proces a zanechala po sobě čerstvý kráter.
No, bylo by to mnohem horší než kráter… ale to je popis, který by byl zaznamenán do dějin, jen co všechny přeživší odvezli do cvokhausu.
Píši perem s ocelovou špičkou, modelem číslo 137B, z výroby firmy Hughes & Sons z Birminghamu. Poručila jsem si jejich nejostřejší špičku, částečně abych ušetřila na papíře, částečně abych se mohla píchnout do palce pro kapku krve. Hnědou skvrnu na horní straně papíru můžete prozkoumat v jakékoli genetické laboratoři 21. století. Srovnejte výsledky s informacemi v mé osobní složce na základně ODO a uvidíte, že jsem žena z vašeho věku, která píše v polovině 19. století.
Mám v úmyslu sepsat vše, co vysvětluje, jak jsem se zde ocitla, ať už to zní jakkoli vymyšleně či fantasmagoricky. Ve slovech Petera Gabriela, zpěváka/skladatele, který se narodí za 99 let: tohle je má výpověď.
Prohlašuji, že jsem zde proti své vůli, co jsem sem byla poslána z 8. září, 1850 ze San Franciska, Kalifornie (den před udělením kalifornské státnosti).
Prohlašuji, že patřím do Bostonu, státu Massachussets, v první polovině 21. století. Tam a v té době patřím k Oddělení Diakronických Operací: ilegální organizace vlády Spojených států, které se vymklo kontrole kvůli intrikám z vlastních řad.
V době, ve které píši tato slova, 1851, se vytrácí magie. Průzkum, za který mě ODO platí, předpovídá, že na konci měsíce (28. července) přestane zcela fungovat. Až se tak stane, budu ve zdejším světě bez magie uvězněna nadosmrti. Tato výpověď je jediný způsob, jak se kdo kdy dozví, co se mnou bylo. Přestože se mi podařilo obstarat si pohodlné (na rok 1851) bydlení, které mi skýtá přístup k peru, inkoustu, volný čas a soukromí, platím svou svobodou. Mé hostitele by ani nenapadlo mě samotnou pustit z domu na večerní procházku, natož vyhledat čarodějky, které by mi mohly pomoci.
Pár poznámek na úvod. Jestliže si někdo z ODO někdy přečte tento text, přidejte proboha šičky korzetů na seznam výrobců, které musíme naverbovat ve všech viktoriánských DAMD (Doba a místo destinace). Korzety mají být vyrobeny na míru, aby vyhovovaly křivkám těla dámy, a je nepříjemné si je muset půjčovat nebo kupovat z druhé ruky, i když služebné a chudší ženy to tak většinou dělají (ale nešněrují je napevno, protože musí vykonávat manuální práce). Jelikož jsem odkázána na dobrotivost mých hostitelů, raději bych je nežádala o prostředky na vlastní korzet, ale ten, který mám na sobě (zapůjčený od mé hostitelky) je jednoduše příšerný. Renesanční živůtky jsou v porovnání úplné bikiny, a to nekecám.
Ale čtenáři, pokud nechceš čekat na analýzy a vyžaduješ okamžitou jistotu, zde je pár výroků, které mě činí buď jasnovidcem nebo osobou z budoucnosti: Za deset let vypukne ve Spojených státech amerických strašlivá občanská válka, která bude trvat čtyři roky a bude se z velké části (ale ne úplně) týkat otroctví. Unie zvítězí a otroctví bude zakázáno, jenže pak (spoiler) bude zavražděn prezident. V 80. letech bude díky pokroku technologie zoetrop natočen první pohyblivý obraz na světě a během následujících 50 let se „filmový průmysl“ stane nejpopulárnějším zdrojem zábavy vůbec. Do sta let se „filmy“ stanou součástí běžného života. Herečky už nebudou srovnávány s prostitutkami a postupem času získají moc ovlivnit světovou politiku, aniž by se musely vyspat s člověkem na vrcholu hierarchie (i když Eva Peron si to v Argentině stejně zkusí). Pokud jsi Arménec, opusť Turecko. Pokud jsi Žid, uteč z Evropy.
(Poznámka na okraj: Gráinnina stížnost obsahuje pozorování, že pokrok technologie a násilí jdou ruku v ruce. Tristan si myslí, že technologie zmírňuje násilí, ale Gráinne by prohlásila, že je naopak jeho příčinou. K tomu se ještě vrátit.)
Jo, a tady je další spoiler: bostonští Red Sox prodají baseballovou hvězdu Babe Ruth newyorským Yankees, následně na to doplatí a dalších 86 let nevyhrají Světovou sérii, než kletba konečně odezní. Tahle vsuvka je pro Tristana, protože Yankees fandí. To kvůli Tristanovi toto píši.

Tire Grabbers
The Council of Grand Shamans sat fidgeting in their seats. It
was the first closed-door council session in Secret-Place annals. The
shamans were troubled, and by a unanimous vote they decided it was
not a good idea to bring their disturbed state-of-mind to the attention
of the ordinary Secret-Place denizen.
"Nothing like a secret meeting to alert the masses that there's
something fishy in Denmark," said Henry Miller. Miller was present
at the closed session in an advisory capacity. More than anyone, he
had his finger on the pulse of everyday life in the Secret Place.
"Right there, Henry," said Krishna, "is a manifestation of the
problem. Hard-World terminology has begun leaking into Secret-
Place vocabulary." Krishna had a soft spot in his heart for Henry. He
was attracted to his rowdy nature.
"It's the language of the man on the street!" declared Henry.
"What street!" Allah demanded. "We have no streets here! You
are mired in Hard-World concepts! You must transcend your old state!
You cannot continue keeping your fingers in all the pies!"
"Listen to you!" laughed Henry.
"It was a mistake to bring Mr. Miller to our meeting," said Woden.
"With the Council's permission, I'll strike him down with lightning."
"If anyone's going to start tossing lightning bolts," said Zeus, "that
would be me."
Oya, the stately goddess of the Yoruba, cleared her throat.
Lightning was her domain, lightning and tornadoes, cemeteries and
death. She was, among other things, the goddess of the winds of
change, which is why she recently wound up on the otherwise all-male
rotating Grand Council. The winds of change had reached gale force
in the Secret Place.
Zeus bowed his deference to Oya. She was devastatingly
beautiful, this onyx-skinned warrior goddess, and he could not keep
his mythological eyes off her.
Woden, on the other hand, sent a thunderous Nordic glare Oya's
way, which she absorbed with ease into her torrid nature.
"You guys!" said Henry.
Christ, who was chairing the meeting, did a first. He brought
down the gavel, which startled everyone around the table and gave
Christ a nasty jolt of deja-vu.
"Gentlemen," said Christ. "Gentleman and...and lady. We can
thank our lucky stars this is a closed meeting."
"Thank our lucky stars!" said Henry gleefully.
Christ ignored him. "Using Hard-World terminology is but a
symptom of what has been happening," he said. "What actually has
been happening is that the Secret Place has been getting assimilated
back into the Hard World."
"It's all the fault of the Nameless One!" Allah cried out, kicking
his chair back and jumping to his feet, throwing his hands in the air
where his fingers commenced dancing.
"Whoa," said Buddha. "Easy does it..."
"We need to send out a team to retrieve the Nameless One!" said
Allah.
Krishna spun around in his swivel chair. "Who ordered these
chairs?" he asked. "I don't remember ordering chairs. Is it in the
minutes, Thomas?"
Doubting Thomas, secretary to the Council, began leafing through
the minutes.
"Really, we have more important things to do than discuss
furniture," said Christ.
"Do we?" said Krishna. "I think these chairs are a symptom too,
and I think we're going to have to trace the symptoms back to their
origin before we can do anything about our problem, which is, if I
heard the most honorable Christ Shaman correctly, one of retrograde
assimilation."
Everyone started talking at once, and Henry walked away from
the table and stared through the membrane of the Cloaking Dome at
an infinite tumble of deep-space stars. He walked back to the table.
"You gotta have heart," he said. "Without a change of heart, things are
apt to get worse."
"Tell us something we don't already know!" said Allah. "How are
the unicorns faring? What's going on with the satyrs and nymphs?
Have we been infiltrated? Are there Hard-World spies loose in the
Secret Place? Who's at the bottom of all this?"
"I agree with Allah," said Woden. "It's all because of the Nameless
One." In a fit of anger he sent a bolt of lightning straight up through
the Cloaking Dome, the dome membrane immediately closing in
around it.
Oya raised an eyebrow. Shamans seemed like shamans when they
were around lesser beings, but when they were alone together they
were like unruly children.
Sensing an outbreak of one-upmanship, Christ raised the gavel.
Just the sight of that hammer hovering in the air was enough to snap
everyone back into line.
"Follow the pointing finger back up the arm," said Henry. "The
Nameless One isn't the problem, and people in glass houses shouldn't
throw lightning bolts."
"That's good!" said Krishna. "That's very good!"
"Nothing in the minutes about swivel chairs," said Thomas.
"We need to pause and reflect," said Buddha.
"We need action!" protested Woden.
"We need a coffee break," said Henry, and Christ declared a tenminute
recess.
Christ gave the floor to Henry after the coffee break.
"Here's the way it looks to the average Joe on the street," Henry
began. "The Secret Place isn't being assimilated, it's decaying from
within, and the average Joe thinks Patrick O'Reiley and his nameless
creation are being used as scapegoats to deflect attention from this
inner decay."
Henry's assessment caused a shamanistic outcry.
"There's more," said Henry after Christ had restored order. "The
scuttlebutt on the non-existing street is that things have been going on
in the Hard World that the Council hasn't been paying attention to.
First off, the nature of Hard-World awareness has been radically altered
since the Great War. A handful of upper-echelon Hunters has been
manipulating the minds of the masses. I know this first-hand. I lived
it. I wrote books about it. The point is, the manipulators' methods have
become so advanced that not only are they turning people into robots,
they're mutilating the population of Dreamers that's still trapped in
Hard-World incarnations. The number of Dreamers getting turned
into Drone Zombies during a Hard-World incarnation has tripled in
the last fifty earth years. It's chaos and slaughter down there."
"How is it we don't have these statistics at our disposal?" Oya
asked.
"Like I said earlier," said Henry, "we've been barking up the wrong
tree. We've stereotyped the Hard World and haven't been paying
attention to what's actually going on there."
There was another outburst from the shamans, this one requiring
a staccato blast of gavel pounding to get under control.
"It's a grow or go universe," Henry said. "With all due respect, the
Council has become so locked in on the idea that the Nameless One
is the cause of our problems that he's overshadowed the Evil One. In
truth, it's the Nameless One and Patrick O'Reiley who've thrown a
monkey wrench into the schemes of this new breed of Hunter. Which is
a blessing in disguise, because-and you'd better brace yourselves for
this one-the manipulators running today's Hard World have become
convinced we exist. That's what's causing the code-red vibrations
that keep washing over the Secret Place, not some renegade Mind
Creature," said Henry. "The Hard World is planning an invasion. We
are, ladies and gentlemen, at war."
The shamans were so riddled with humility it bordered on
shame.
"And," Henry went on, "let me draw it to your attention that we
already have a Salvation Team in the Hard World trying to make contact
with Patrick. We sent them eons ago, Secret-Place time. Remember
Groucho? And that new breed of Whitie? They're down there still.
They've been there so long one of them has started to mutate. They're
in Connecticut, which is where Patrick has just arrived. But that's
another story. There are a lot of stories that need telling. If you'd like,
I could give you weekly briefings."
"How do you know all this?" said Allah.
"Trust me," said Henry. "Even as I speak, Patrick is connecting
with the Whities."
"They won't know what to do!" said Allah. "It's been too long! Too
much water under the bridge! Too much mutation!"
"They'll know," said Henry. "They're custom built. Only Groucho
and Ringo are old-school."
With that Christ brought down the gavel one last time, and the
meeting came to a close.

Rada šamanů se vrtěla ve svých křeslech. První uzavřené setkání rady v análech Tajného místa bylo zahájeno. Šamani byli znepokojení a jednohlasně rozhodli, že upozornit běžné obvatele na jejich rozpoložení by nebyl dobrý nápad.
„Není nad tajné setkání, když chcete davům oznámit, že je cosi shnilého ve státě dánském,“ řekl Henry Miller. Miller se uzavřeného setkání účastnil v roli rádce. Vyznal se v běžném ruchu každodenního života na Tajném místě lépe než kdokoli jiný.
„A zrovna v tomto,“ řekl Kršna, „vězí náš problém. Terminologie Tvrdého světa začala pronikat do slovníku Tajného místa.“ Kršna měl Henryho rád. Přitahovala ho jeho neurvalá povaha.
„Je to jazyk člověka z ulice!“ prohlásil Henry.
„Jaké ulice!“ zvolal Alláh. „Tady žádné ulice nejsou! Bahníte se v konceptech z Tvrdého světa! Musíte se povznést nad svou starou podobu! Nemůžete nadále sedět na dvou židlích!“
„Poslechněte si sám sebe!“ zasmál se Henry.
„Byla chyba přivést pana Millera na toto setkání,“ řekl Odin.
„Se svolením rady do něj udeřím bleskem.“
„Jestli tu někdo bude házet blesky,“ řekl Zeus, „tak to budu já.“
Oja, vznešená bohyně Jorubů, si odkašlala.
Blesk byl její doménou, blesky a tornáda, hřbitovy a smrt. Byla, mimo jiné, bohyní větru změny, a tak se také ocitla v rotující hlavní radě, které kromě jí předsedali samí muži. Vítr změn v Tajném místě nabyl síly vichřice.
Zeus se Oje s úctou poklonil. Byla ohromně nádherná, ona bohyně válečníků s onyxovou pletí, a on od ní nemohl odtrhnout své mytologické oči.
Odin naopak Oje věnoval bouřlivý severský pohled plný vzteku, který její divoká povaha lehce vstřebala.
„No tak, chlapi!“ řekl Henry.
Kristus, který setkání předsedal, se poprvé projevil. Udeřil kladívkem, což všechny u stolu polekalo a Kristovi přivodilo nepěkné deja-vu.
„Pánové,“ řekl Kristus. „Pánové a… a dámo. Můžeme být rádi, že nám přála štěstěna a tohle je uzavřená sešlost.“
„Přála nám štěstěna!“ řekl Henry škodolibě.
Kristus si ho nevšímal. „Používání terminologie z Tvrdého světa je jen příznak toho, co se děje,“ řekl. „Ve skutečnosti se děje to, že Tajné místo je vstřebáváno zpět do Tvrdého světa.“
„Za všechno může Bezejmenný!“ vykřikl Alláh, vyskočil ze křesla a vyhodil ruce do vzduchu, kde jeho prsty začaly tančit.
„Počkat,“ řekl Buddha. „Zpomalte…“
„Musíme vyslat tým, aby Bezejmenného našel!“ řekl Alláh.
Kršna se otočil ve svém křesle. „Kdo objednal tahle křesla?“ zeptal se. „Nepamatuji si, že by se objednávala křesla. Tomáši, je to v zápisu?“
Nevěřící Tomáš, sekretář rady, začal procházet zápis.
„No tak, máme důležitější věci na práci než diskutovat o nábytku,“ řekl Kristus.
„Vážně?“ namítl Kršna. „Myslím si, že tahle křesla jsou také příznakem, a myslím, že první musíme zjistit, kde se nachází zdroj těchto příznaků, než se budeme moct zabývat naším problémem, kterým, jestli jsem Vaši Vznešenost slyšel správně, je sloučení světů.“
Všichni začali mluvit naráz. Henry poodešel od stolu a skrz membránu Zahaleného dómu se zadíval na nekonečný pád hvězd v hlubokém vesmíru. Přistoupil zpět ke stolu.
„Musíte věřit,“ řekl. „Pokud nezměníte názor, bude ještě hůř.“
„Povězte nám něco, co sami nevíme!“ řekl Alláh. „Jak jsou na tom jednorožci? Co se děje se satyry a nymfami? Pronikl někdo do našich řad? Pobíhají po Tajném místě špioni z Tvrdého světa? Kdo za tím vším stojí?“
„Souhlasím s Alláhem,“ řekl Odin. „Za všechno může Bezejmenný.“ Ve vzteku vyslal blesk vzhůru skrz Zahalený dóm, jehož membrána se kolem něj okamžitě uzavřela.
Oja pozvedla obočí. Šamani působili jako šamani, když byli kolem menších bytostí, ale když byli mezi svými, chovali se jako rozjívené děti.
Aby se všichni přestali předhánět ve svých schopnostech, Kristus pozvedl kladívko. Jen pohled na to, jak visí ve vzduchu, všechny srovnal.
„Zameťte si před vlastním prahem,“ řekl Henry. „Problém nevězí v Bezejmenném a lidé ve skleníku by neměli házet blesky.“
„To je dobré!“ řekl Kršna. „Moc dobré!“
„V zápisu není nic o točících křeslech,“ řekl Tomáš.
„Potřebujeme krátkou pauzu na zamyšlenou,“ řekl Buddha.
„Potřebujeme jednat!“ protestoval Odin.
„Potřebujeme přestávku na kafe,“ řekl Henry a Kristus vyhlásil desetiminutovou pauzu.
Po přestávce předal Kristus slovo Henrymu.
„Takhle to vidí průměrný Pepa,“ začal Henry. „Tvrdý svět nevstřebává Tajné místo, ale Tajné místo se rozpadá zevnitř a průměrný Pepa si myslí, že Patrick O’Reiley a jeho bezejmenná díla jsou předmětem diskuze jenom kvůli pokusům svalit vinu na někoho jiného a odvést pozornost právě od tohoto vnitřního rozkladu.“
Henryho posudek byl odměněn bouřlivým protestem šamanů.
„To není všechno,“ řekl Henry, když Kristus zjednal pořádek. „Podle zvěstí z oné neexistující ulice se v Tvrdém světě dějí věci, kterých si rada nevšimla. Zaprvé, povaha povědomí v Tvrdém světě se od Velké války razantně změnila. Hrstka vysoce postavených Lovců manipuluje celé davy. Tohle vím z první ruky. Zažil jsem to. Napsal jsem o tom knihy. Pointou je, že metody manipulátorů jsou tak efektivní, že nejen mění lidi na roboty, ale také mrzačí populaci Snílků, která je na Tvrdém světě stále uvězněna v reinkarnacích. Počet Snílků přeměněných na Dronové zombie během tvrdosvětové inkarnace se za posledních padesát zemských let ztrojnásobil. Jsou to hotová jatka, čistý chaos.“
„Jak to, že tyhle statistiky nemáme k dispozici?“ zeptala se Oja.
„Jak už jsem řekl,“ řekl Henry, „pláčeme na špatném hrobě. Spoléhali jsme na stereotyp, místo abychom sledovali, co se v Tvrdém světě skutečně děje.“
Šamani propukli v další bouřlivý protest, který odezněl až po notném bušení kladívkem.
„Na tomhle světě máte dvě možnosti: přizpůsob se, nebo pojdi,“ řekl Henry. „Se vší úctou, rada se tak zaměřila na myšlenku, že za všechno může Bezejmenný, že zapomněla i na Zlého. Ve skutečnosti jsou to právě Bezejmenný a Patrick O’Reiley, kdo narušili intriky nového druhu Lovců. Je to vlastně štěstí v neštěstí, protože – a teď se držte – manipulátoři, kteří ovládají dnešní Tvrdý svět, jsou přesvědčeni, že existujeme. To je to, co způsobuje kritické vibrace, které sem a tam zatřesou Tajným místem, a ne nějaká odpadlická Stvůra mysli,“ řekl Henry. „Tvrdý svět plánuje invazi. Dámy a pánové, tohle je válka.“
Šamani byli tak hluboce pokořeni, že to až hraničilo s hanbou.
„A,“ pokračoval Henry, „dovolte mi poukázat na to, že už v Tvrdém světě máme tým Spasitelů, který se snaží Patricka kontaktovat. Poslali jsme je před celou věčností tajnomístního času. Pamatujete Groucha? Nový druh Běláska? Pořád tam dole jsou. Už tam jsou tak dlouho, že jeden z nich začal mutovat. Jsou v Connecticutu, Patrick tam zrovna dorazil. Ale to je jiný příběh. Je tu hodně příběhů, které musí být převyprávěny. Pokud chcete, mohu vás týdně informovat.“
„Jak vy tohle všechno víte?“ zeptal se Alláh.
„Věřte mi,“ řekl Henry. „Zatímco mluvím, Patrick navazuje kontakt s Bělásky.“
„Nebudou vědět, co dělat!“ řekl Alláh. „Uběhla taková doba! Proud času je moc změnil! Moc zmutoval!“
„Ale budou,“ řekl Henry. „Byli vyrobeni na zakázku. Jenom Groucho a Ringo jsou ze staré školy.“
S tím udeřil Kristus kladívkem naposled a setkání bylo u konce.
