Life is a series of happy accidents:
Asymmetric to a typical Singapore morning, dark clouds were hovering over the commonwealth MRT; ready to pour its love on the city after a humid and hungover Friday night. The city paths were running a little slow and a bit dizzy, as if they had a little too much to drink last night. Lost in random thoughts about the pathetic life of European dogs in Singapore, my phone’s messenger popped out with an irritating dime
“what time will you reach?”
“another 20 mins or so”
“great, see you.”
By the time I put back my mobile, another message said:
“I have put on a pink top and blue torn shorts”
I didn’t need that description to identify her; thanks to Facebook and my recently generated interest in the pretty lady.
It was my third month here in the country of Islands. Terms like homesick, existential crisis and even depression had started making sense to me in a way more practical than ever before. To an extrovert personality that I adhere, I had only two contacts in the new city, forming a perfect contrast.

A vida é uma série de felizes incidentes:
Diferente de uma típica manhã em Cingapura, nuvens negras pairavam sobre a estação de trem, prontas para derramar seu amor sobre a cidade depois de uma noite de sexta-feira úmida e de ressaca. As estradas estavam um pouco lentas e vertiginosas, como se tivessem bebido demais na noite passada. Perdido em pensamentos aleatórios sobre a vida patética dos cães europeus em Cingapura, uma mensagem saltou do meu telefone com um barulho irritante.
"Que horas você vai chegar?"
“Daqui uns 20 minutos, mais ou menos”
"Ótimo, até mais."
No momento em que estava guardando o celular, outra mensagem dizia:
“Coloquei uma blusa rosa e um short azul rasgado”
Eu não precisava dessa descrição para identificá-la, graças ao Facebook e ao meu interesse recente por essa linda moça.
Era meu terceiro mês aqui neste país insular. Termos como saudade de casa, crises existenciais, e até mesmo depressão, começaram a fazer sentido para mim de uma maneira mais concreta do que nunca. Apesar da minha personalidade extrovertida, eu conhecia apenas duas pessoas na nova cidade, o que era um perfeito contraste.

I'm a Brazilian translator/lawyer living in Rio de Janeiro/Brazil and I specialize in law, history, literature, tourism, culinary and many other areas.
I lived in the United Kingdom (England and Scotland) in 2005, where I learned to speak fluent English.
In England I studied at Harrow House International College, where I got my degrees in Hospitality and Tourism Sandwich Course and English Language Tuition Course. And I also got my NCFE Certificate in Employment Skills.
In Scotland I worked as General Assistant in a hotel located in Laurencekirk.
In 2010 I graduated from Law School (Cândido Mendes University - Brazil) and I worked as a lawyer in some law offices.
In 2017 I got a degree as a translator (EN/PT) at Estácio de Sá University (Brazil), and in 2018 I got an associate degree in Legal Translation, so I've been working as a translator since then.
