English to Portuguese: Excerpt from "Brownies" by ZZ Packer General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Poetry & Literature
Source text - English But nature lessons were not Mrs. Margolin’s top priority. She saw the position of troop leader as an evangelical post. Back at the A.M.E. church where our Brownie meetings were held, Mrs. Margolin was especially fond of imparting religious aphorisms by means of acrostics—“Satan” was the “Serpent Always Tempting and Noisome”; she’d refer to the “Bible” as “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.” Whenever she quizzed us on these, expecting to hear the acrostics parroted back to her, only Arnetta’s correct replies soared over our vague mumblings. “Jesus?” Mrs. Margolin might ask expectantly, and Arnetta alone would dutifully answer, “Jehovah’s Example, Saving Us Sinners.”
"Jesus?", poderia perguntar ansiosa a Sra. Margolin, e a aplicada Arnetta sozinha responderia: "Jeová Encarnado, Sejamos Ungidos pelo Senhor."

Experience
Years of experience: 6. Registered at ProZ.com: Dec 2018.
I do not know if I am a translator who studies Medicine or a medical student who translates. I think I do a pretty good job in both fields and I suspect it is so because I love what I do.
Before I entered the translation world, I was already familiar with that kind of practice. When I was a child, my oldest brother used to translate the subtitles from the games he played on our beloved PlayStation 1 so I could follow the stories while he played them. In my teenage years, watching movies, series, interviews, and a lot of NBA basketball made learning the English language a natural experience. All of a sudden I could not only read the subtitles from the games my brother used to play but also whole books written in English. So translation and I go a long way back, but now we are tied together in a professional way.
