I hold a professional degree in education as a teacher of English and German and a MA degree in German Philology with module in Translatology (German-Latvian) I have been actively translating on freelance bases and my recent translation experience encompasses translation practice at the Directorate-General for Translation (DG TRAD) in Luxembourg where I was responsible for delivering accurate, high-quality translation of varied types of EP documents (minutes, master script for flash news, draft reports, petitions etc.) based on the high degree of precision and linguistic quality standards laid down by the European Parliament.
Translations were mainly from English into Latvian, but also from German into Latvian.I worked with a wide variety of inter institutional terminology databases (such as IATE) and specialised translation softwares (Trados Studio, CAT tools) and ensured a proper use of legal terms and verified information for accuracy. I was also responsible for translating and reading radio news in Latvian for Eurparl Audio Capacity.
I am skilled in handling multiple translation projects simultaneously and managed workflow against tight deadlines. I effectively communicate with clients on project deadlines and proofreading feedback.
