I have been working as a professional translator from English and Dutch into French since 2016. And I love it.
After completing an MA in Translation (ULiège), I was lucky enough to work as a translator/press assistant at the French Embassy in Brussels. Evolving in a diplomatic environment taught me right from the start how to work under pressure, to manage multiple projects at the same time and to increase my productivity as a translator. During my time at the embassy, I got to specialize myself further in various fields such as politics, economics, defense, diplomatic matters, etc.
In the summer of 2017, I had began working as an in-house translation expert with other language professionals for one of the top insurance companies on the Belgian market insuring over 1.200.000 customers. This was a great opportunity to translate documents in the specialized fields that I studied at university: legal documents, financial reports or insurance contracts. I also discovered what it is like to work for all kinds of departments: HR, IT, Legal, Risk & Compliance, Accounting or even Infrastructure. As part of the Corporate Office, I now work directly for the company's governing bodies along with four other fellow translators.
Being an in-house translator also means that my schedule is extremely flexible and the entrepreneurial me has slowly been waking up : that is why I'm offering my services to the world as a part-time freelance translator!
