I currently hold my certification in medical interpreting (Spanish) through the NBCMI (National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters) and also have a wealth of experience in mental/behavioral health interpreting. While most interpreting and certifying agencies only require a 40-hour course, I completed over 260 hours of university-level training before becoming an interpreter. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from VCU in 2016, having received my BA in Foreign Language: Spanish and completed the SETI (Spanish-English Translation and Interpretation) program. Since then, I have worked in the local medical community honing my language and interpretation/translation skills to better serve the Spanish-Speaking population.
