English to Portuguese: African Politics summary translation
Source text - English The author starts off establishing the differences in meaning between the main concepts he will argue. Firstly, instrumental and fundamental rights. Then he differentiates means and goals of Democracy, by giving four fundamental parts of it: “accountable rulers, actively participating citizens, an open society and social justice.” In the end of his first argument, he questions Africa’s means of achieving those four goals, because the goals are the same, but the means differ.
Translation - Portuguese O autor começa estabelecendo as diferenças em significado entre os conceitos principais que ele vai argumentar. Primeiramente, direitos instrumentais e fundamentais. Depois, ele diferencia os meios e objectivos de uma Democracia, dando quatro partes disso: "líderes responsáveis, cidadãos que participam ativamente, uma sociedade aberta e justiça social." No final do seu primeiro argumento, ele questiona os meios que a Africa usa para conseguir esses quatro objectivos, porque eles são os mesmos, mas os meios são diferentes.
