After completing my BA degree in German Language and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2008 (specialization in Translation, Literature and Culture), including an Exchange Semester at the Heinrich Heine University, I went on to study Translation at a Master level at the Faculty of Translation Studies, Linguistics and Cultural Studies (Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz). I have been working since 2012 as a freelance translator, while doing an internship at a major translation agency in Athens and completing a traineeship at the Directorate-General for Translation (DG TRAD) of the European Parliament. Following that, for a couple of years I worked as an in-house translator, proof-reader and project manager assistant for a well-known translation agency in Athens, where I acquired expertise in translating i.a. technical, legal and marketing texts with the use of all the modern translation software. In 2016 I decided to return to my hometown, Chania, and resume my freelance career, translating everything from legal documents, websites and travel-guides to poems. Also, I subtitled many movies and episodes for Netflix, documentaries for independent filmmakers and corporate educational material. Recently, I opened my own translation office "Verbum" in Chania where, together with my Spanish-expert colleague Costas Papadopoulos, we translate to and from German/English/Spanish/Greek. We have also managed to bring together a small team of experienced and talented professional translators who offer their services in multiple languages: French, Swedish, Italian, Norwegian, Arabic and more. Together, our diverse, experienced team provides professional, accurate, on-time
