Source text - Portuguese O sistema de Proof of Stake (prova de participação em português), nasceu como uma alternativa devido a vozes discordantes com o uso energético de criptomoedas como a Bitcoin, que são baseadas na prova de trabalho (PoW) e os altos custos de equipamentos de mineração.
Trata-se de um algoritmo de busca por consenso para criptomoedas baseado na tecnologia Blockchain.
No algoritmo de PoS quem tem criptomoedas em seu poder, é recompensado. Ou seja, ter criptomoedas no seu endereço é a prova de que está a participar na criptomoeda. As carteiras dos usuários são responsáveis por armazenar e validar blocos.
