Personal Profile
I specialise in the translation of German creative copy into UK English. I hold a Master's degree in Translation (Distinction) from the University of Bristol. Focusing particularly on magazine and website content, my aim is to consistently deliver excellent, well-presented texts that surpass my clients’ expectations. Services offered beyond translation include proofreading, editing, post-editing and revision of English copy.
Work Experience
Freelance Translator and Proofreader (2011 – present)
From airlines to online marketplaces, I work with my clients to create engaging content precisely tailored to their stylistic requirements. This takes the form of press releases, brochures, websites, customer and employee magazines, advertising copy and product descriptions for clients predominantly within the luxury sector. An example of my clients' feedback:
- “We were really happy with your work for the magazine. We thought you did a great job and the end product read really well!”
- “I have one word for you: INSPIRED!”
- “I have just read the revised press release and I can’t help but smile. You’re a master at this.”
- “I really love the way you polished the wording.”
Translation Project Manager, Planet Languages, Surrey (2009 – 2011)
I managed creative translation and typesetting projects into as many as 18 languages for an array of high-profile clients. After a very short time of working for Planet Languages, I was entrusted with managing the nine-language translation of a quarterly magazine project for one of the company's most prestigious clients.
English Language Assistant, Die Ruppin Grundschule, Berlin (2007 – 2008)
I spent a year employed by the British Council as an English Language Assistant in a primary school in Berlin. As I worked with very young learners, one of the most important aspects of my job was to keep the children engaged with varied activities and constant enthusiasm.
