I am a cultural historian and art historian with eight years of professional translation and interpreting experience. I was raised trilingual English - German - Dutch in the Netherlands and could thus develop a profound understanding of these three languages since early childhood. My lessons and assignments at Humboldt-University Berlin were both in German and in English, providing me with a sound academic language level specialised in the arts and humanities. During my study years I have worked as a translator, interpreter and editor German / English for various cultural projects in and around Berlin. After graduating I have lived for two years in Wellington, New Zealand, where I worked for the New Zealand government and for a major Australia-based telephone interpreting company. I currently live in magical Bhaktapur, Nepal, where I also make silver jewellery and create visual poetry. I am especially looking forward to receiving more translation assignments, as I truly love doing text-based work.
