of women
sit around the enormous kitchen table—
some hunched over
cups of coffee,
some hunched over
cups of tea.
despite our many differences, we are all laughing so hard that the thunder outside must compete with us.
she can’t sit here
with us anymore
& i’m sure we can all feel the heaviness of her absence,
but even when every chair is taken
& everyone else has to stand,
it still feels like there will ň
always be a space for her.

tri generácie
žien
sedia okolo veľkého
kuchynského stola –
niektoré zhrbené nad
kávou,
niektoré zhrbené nad
čajom.
napriek mnohým rozdielom
sa všetky smejeme tak hlasno,
až si s nami búrka zvonku
musí merať sily.
ale ona tu
už s nami nie je
a som si istá, že všetky cítime
ťarchu jej neprítomnosti,
aj keď sú stoličky obsadené
a ostatné z nás stoja,
stále mám pocit, akoby tu navždy
bolo miesto aj pre ňu.

Gott segnet den Menschen noch immer, indem Er ihn mit Nahrung versorgt. Das hat sich nicht geändert. Ohne dass Gott Brot und Wasser, Gemüse oder Fleisch aus der Natur gibt, kann der Mensch nicht leben. Hast Du Ihm jemals dafür gedankt?
Der Schöpfer hat den Menschen gemacht und erhält ihn am Leben. Wofür? Damit er Gott ehrt!

„Dávaš, aby rástla tráva dobytku a bylina na službu človeka, aby tak vyvodil chlieb zo zeme.“
Biblia – Žalm 104,14
Boh ešte stále požehnáva človeka tým, že mu zaopatruje potravu. To sa nezmenilo. Človek nemôže žiť bez toho, aby dal Boh chlieb, vodu, zeleninu alebo mäso z prírody. Už si Mu za to niekedy ďakoval?
Stvoriteľ učinil človeka a udržuje ho nažive. Načo? Aby uctieval Boha!
