I do written translation work. I have an M.A. in Spanish from the University of Kentucky. I have taught Spanish at the university level. My language combinations are English-Spanish and Spanish-English.
I have translated the following from English into Spanish: 1) Better Practice safety guides for the Mine Safety and Health Administration; 2) an extensive scholarly article which has been published in an academic journal; 3) eleven (11) flyers to inform Hispanics about unions; 4) Apprentice Forklift Workbook; 5) World Trade Center employee orientation and other safety information for Hispanic workers; 6) union contract and application to apprenticeship program; and 7) Orientation Course Guide (Instructor's Manual/Lesson Plans). I also am collaborating to design a crash course in Spanish to enable coordinators of locals to communicate better as they undertake outreach efforts with the Hispanic community.
My average rates are 15 cents per word for general materials, and 18 cents per word for more specialized material (legal documents, technical material, material requiring use of specialized terminology). |
