My areas of specialization are in general translation, media and news, the arts, literature, international trade, marketing, business communications, tourism, medicine, technical documentation, computers, software, and the Internet.

I have extensive experience with computers and technology. I use most Microsoft Windows software including; Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, and Access.

Summarization and voice services are also available. I have outstanding speaking and voice presentation skills in Chinese and am considered a very good speaker in the English language.


I was born in Changsha, China.

I began learning English at age 10 and went on to Major in English language studies at the University of China in Beijing. I received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.

My studies included extensive content translation experiences in the areas of media and news, the arts, literature, international trade, marketing, tourism, medicine and technical documentation.

After my graduation from university, I was a language specialist for the Chinese military.

As a lieutenant in the military, I taught English to officers and I was in charge of all English language translation services for the base. My duties included the accurate translation of general, technical and political information documents as well as the summarization of larger English language sources such as media and journalist stories from the news and current publications.

After completing my military service, I was hired by the Government Hunan Technology Import & Export Corporation. I specialized in import and export language business communications and contracts for general company translations.

Compaq Computer Corporation of China then hired me.

Compaq was creating its headquarters in China and had hired me to be Human Recourses Administrator in charge of hiring and processing the 1000 new employees that would ultimately be needed by the organization. I was responsible for organizing all aspects of employee records.

Most of the new employees were American and English electronic engineers and technicians. These personnel records needed to be translated and organized in both Chinese and English. These records included technical, educational, business, medical, family and contractual content.

Next, I was hired as the assistant to the General Manager for Phillips Petroleum of China. In this position I was responsible for all translation support services for the General Manager. These translation duties included both verbal and text translations of business, personal, technical, media, and general content documents.

I have now relocated with my husband in the United States. My husband is an electronics computer specialist and is able to assist me in all technical language translations. My mother is a medical doctor and she also assists me as necessary when translating medical content.

My rate for translation is variable depending on the project requirements. Typical rates are $.05 per word for general translation projects with fewer than 5,000 words. Higher rates apply for difficult technical or contractual projects, or projects that are time critical. Lower rates can be negotiated for large volume projects and projects with relaxed time constraints.
