I have a degree in German/English translation and interpreting from the University Babes-Bolyai in Cluj, Romania. I also studied for a semester at the well-known University of Mainz, Germersheim in Germany. I grew up speaking two languages(Romanian and Hungarian) and I speak native-like German. I earned an official translator's certification from the Ministry of Justice, Romania for German, English, and Dutch. I worked as a free-lance translator/interpreter for three years in Romania and gathered experience in various fields, such as education, law, the environment, medicine, and automobile registration. I also earned a Master's degree in Translation Science and Terminology at the University of Babes-Bolyai, Romania. At the time I am pursuing a Ph.D in Linguistics and I am an instructor of German at the University of Georgia, USA.
For about one year I worked for ITP Romania (International Translation and Publishing) translating ORACLE modules from English into Romanian using Trados. My Master's thesis involved translating EU legislation for the environment into Romanian as a project of the European Union. We made extensive use of the terminology program MultiTerm when building a terminology base for said topic.
I translated a book from Romanian into English which was published in 2000: Transesophageal Ecocardiography.
