Translation arrived for me as a chance encounter in college. With a knack for details, language, and puzzles, I knew that I'd be working with the intricacies of editing in some form or another, but I'd assumed it would only be English. I'd edited academic essays initially for friends, later as a tutor in my university's writing center. However, my first experience with translating came in the form of an experimental poetry collection. It threw me headlong into the nuance of colloquialisms, synonyms, and the music of the writer's original voice. I was lucky to work closely with the poet to be positively sure her meaning came through, and I hope to do the same with my clients. I still have a love for English, and would be glad to offer proofreading and editing, as well as Spanish to English translation. Most fields interest me, as I love to learn, but I'm more suited to those listed above. In our ever-globalized world, sharing between countries is of utmost importance. Reach out to me if you share a passion for thoroughly clean, available language. My work ethic means as much to me as it does to you. Thank you for your time. |
