I have over 6 months of translation experience with Swedish to English!

I’m Martin Emslie, born and raised in English speaking Canada, along with being fluent in the Swedish language for over 10 years!

I previously studied and worked in Sweden and Denmark for just under 2 years, including the use of Swedish as the working language. I continue to travel internationally to Sweden on a near annual basis.

I also enjoy maintaining the language through weekly podcasts, film and interior design literature and books in Swedish from my travels there.

I have a few years of communications experience working as a proposal writer, a large festival Public Relations Coordinator for over 3 seasons, public speaking engagements as alumni and for industry associations, providing customer support via email and a blogger and writing of a few books on interior design.

I have over 3 years of experience working as a market researcher. I previously worked in local government, social services, higher education and advertising and marketing consulting.

Swedish Associations in Canada

I am a long-time member of the Swedish Cultural Society in Vancouver. I also was previously a board member for two years and a newsletter translator for one year with them.

For the Scandinavian Community Centre in metro Vancouver, I have also been a PR Coordinator and committee member for 3 years for their Scandinavian Midsummer festival, which has an average of 2500+ attendees every year.

I have also previously taught as a Swedish and Norwegian language teacher in Western Canada.
