Source text - English We have established a Corona Committee in our village which consists of Anganwadi workers, Sarpanch, Upasarpanch, Asha workers, some volunteers from the village and we have given them some responsibilities. So let's see what the responsibilities of these members are like.
The most important one is visiting every house with help of Anganwadi workers and Asha taai to get information about the health of all the members of the village and if in we find any patients showing symptoms of covid-19, such as, cold, cough and difficulty in breathing, we refer them to the nearest health center.
We make a list of whoever comes from outside the village and ask them to follow certain standards such as staying in separate room of your house for 14 days and giving complete and accurate information about your visit as well as about symptoms, if any, to the health care worker. Provision has been made to stay in village schools for people who do not have separate rooms in their house.
With the help of Mahila Bachat group, we have made cloth masks for villagers and made them available at the lowest cost. Apart from this, posters have been used at various places to create awareness in the village about Covid-19. We have made a WhatsApp group at village level and keep updating the villagers about the new government guidelines and messages time to time. Also, people who have mobile phones are encouraged to download the Arogya Setu application.
Every chowk in the village has been provided with soap and water for washing hands. And to maintain social distancing in crowded places, marks have been made at every two meters.
It has been announced that punitive action will be taken against those who do not wear masks, spits in the open and cause crowding unnecessarily. We also ensure that a person suspected or infected with corona is not discriminated against, because if there is discrimination, people will be afraid to state their signs and symptoms. So we are creating awareness in villages that we should not discriminate against anyone because we have to fight against Covid-19 and not against the person suffering from Covid-19.
We are also taking care that free ration supplied by the Government is made available to the needy people of the village. We are in touch with the Primary Health Center to ensure that patients suffering from high BP and blood sugar as well as pregnant women, get the necessary treatment and medicines. We have arranged a private vehicle in the village to go to the nearest hospital in case of medical emergency.
We are sure that by establishment of such committees at each village and effective social monitoring with the help of it, as well as by following all guidelines specified by the government, we could certainly prevent the spread of Covid -19 in the village.
