English to Tigrinya: Withdraw Consent Form Special Education General field: Other Detailed field: Education / Pedagogy
Source text - English You have notified the Amherst-Pelham Regional Public Schools (“District”) of your intent to withdraw your child from special education. Specifically, you have stated your intent to decline any and all further special education services and accommodations for your child from or through the District despite your understanding that your child is currently entitled to such services.
In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and with your request, the District will comply with your request and terminate all special education and related services for your child upon receipt of your signature on the enclosed form. If you would like to meet with a school administrator or with your child’s IEP Team prior to the termination of special education services, please contact the office of the Director of Student Services and we will schedule a meeting to discuss the termination of your child’s special education services.
Please be advised that once you have withdrawn your child from special education services, your child will no longer be considered a “child with a disability” for purposes of applicable state and federal laws and regulations, but will receive the educational programming, services, and procedural protections afforded to general education students within the District.
If, in the future, you desire for your child to resume receipt of special education services, you will have the right to request a new evaluation of his or her eligibility for special education so long as your school-age child resides within the District.
