Growing up in Belgium, the world around me has always been trilingual.I studied philosophy, Arabic, and Hebrew at a Belgian university, where I immersed myself in the fascinating world of languages, both intercultural and semantic. The exploration didn't stop there—I embarked on a new adventure in Florence, Italy, pursuing economic development at the renowned Università degli Studi di Firenze. The intensive study of Italian allowed me to deepen my knowledge and grasp the language on a profound level. While earning a B2 certificate in Italian language and culture from the University of Perugia, my commitment to mastering the language grew even stronger through my bachelor's studies.Passionate about language and culture, I delved into the vibrant tourism industry in Spain, immersing myself in the Spanish language on a daily basis. Interacting with locals and visitors alike, I not only honed my linguistic skills but also gained a profound appreciation for the diversity of languages and dialects, each carrying its own unique cultural richness. My freelance translation journey began, providing me with two invaluable years of experience in various domains. While I have a particular fondness for translating legal texts and literature, I approach every project with enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge. I find joy in texts that challenge and teach me something new, expanding my understanding of the world.Driven by my passion and dedication to the art of translation, I am currently pursuing an applied languages master's degree, with the goal of becoming a certified translator, or "bedigd vertaler," in Belgium. This path is not without its challenges, both intellectually and financially, but my love for languages and the profound impact of translation fuel my determination. |
