After graduating in 1992 with First Class Honours in German and French from the University of Bradford, UK, I went on to earn a Postgraduate Diploma in Translation (Dutch, German, and French to English) at the University of Kent. For my first degree, I was awarded the Departmental Prize for the Best Performance in French. For my diploma, I was presented with the Dutch Embassy Prize for Dutch.

My first role after graduating was Senior Translator, working at Lloyds Bank International Services Centre.

In 1999, I went freelance, working full-time. Since then, I have amassed extensive and wide-ranging translation experience, branching out from my initial focus on finance & banking. My specialist areas are now retail & commerce, tourism, art history and museums, sustainability, employment contracts, finance & banking, and terms & conditions.

I have a particular fondness for translating from Dutch, and a particular interest in art history, and sustainability.

I am also a meticulous proofreader/post-editor.
