Bio
We are a husband-and-wife team who collaborate on all work between Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and English. Laura is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and David is a native speaker of English. By working together, we provide translation with built-in quality assurance, thus allowing our clients to save time and money by avoiding the need for an independent reviewer. Best of all, our rates are comparable to those you otherwise would have found from any individual translator.

Laura graduated at the top of her class at Taiwan University, and has earned three master's degrees, two from the United States and one from Taiwan; David is an honors graduate of Yale University and has a Ph.D.

We have served as linguistic assessors for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, and currently serve on the American Translators Association's committee that is developing their Chinese-to-English certification process and exam. Our clients include government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and patent law firms. Our CV, which is attached here, provides further details about our experience.

Our rates are negotiable depending on the direction, content, timeframe, and other details of each project; we typically prefer to review the document(s) to be translated before providing a precise quote. We are confident that our unique work process will allow us to provide top-quality work with lower rates and quicker turnaround times than any other combination of a translator and an editor.
