I have been a free-lance interpreter/translator for the past 17 years. I am perfectly bilingual English/italian/English and received my interpreting-translating degree from the School for Interpreters and Translators in Florence, Italy, after receiving my college education in the US.
My areas of specialization include telecommunications, television, marketing, medical-surgical instruments and procedures and bascially all technical fields. I am currently responsible for the English translation of an Italian specialized monthly magazine for suppliers of household appliance components. I am also the translator of nature, medical and cultural documentaries for two television shows aired throughout Italy on "LaSette", Italy's third largest broadcaster.
I have had experience working as an interpreter for the US State Department and translating experiences with multinational companies such as Alfa Romeo, United States Surgical Corporation, Recordati Pharmaceuticals, Mobil Plastics Corporation, Pagine Italia (Italian version of US Yellow Pages), Facit (computer information) and Mediaset (Italy's largest commercial television broadcaster).
Cost per word for technical translations: $0.11. Cost per workd per commercial and script translations: $0.08 per word. |
