After my technical and language training, I worked both as an artist and as a writer/editor/translator. For Spectrum Publishers in Utrecht I translated and partially rewrote some general technology manuals (Techniek in woord en beeld, 1996, Zo werkt dat, 2003). For other publishers I translated books on art (Arnason, 1992), remote sensing (Van Verre, 1996), digital photography and many other subjects. I wrote books and other texts on art, DIY and technology, both in Dutch and English. From 2001 to 2005 I was a technology editor for the Dutch Winkler Prins / Encarta encyclopedia.
I have written texts, excerpts and translations for a wide variety of industrial companies, including Philips, Randstad, Time, Daimler-Benz, Dräger Medical Systems, sometimes in co-operation with agencies like Berlitz, BNM and Dhaxley. I'm at my best when working on complex, multidisciplinary projects, but I also do specialised translations with a tight deadline.
