Bio
I am a German native speaker, born and raised in Vienna, who lived in the Netherlands for 18 years and now lives in the UK. I hold an MA in English and French Translation Studies as well as an MA in Dutch Language and Culture, both from the University of Vienna.

In 2000, I successfully completed a post-graduate legal translation course organised by the Dutch Association of Court Interpreters and Legal Translators (SIGV). Ever since then, have gained extensive experience in the translation of a great variety of legal and official documents:
- Articles of Association
- birth, death and marriage certificates
- divorce papers
- last wills
- diplomas and certificates
- certificate of good conduct
- powers of attorney
- extracts from Commercial Registers
- adoption papers
- any kind of contract (employment contracts, sale and purchase agreements, etc.)

Since February 2009, I am registered as a certified translator with the Quality Register (Kwaliteitsregister) in ´s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, under Wbtv-no. 1428. Due to this registration I am fully qualified to provide certified translations from Dutch into German, English into German as well as French into German. To guarantee the highest quality of work, I regularly attend legal translation workshops in the Netherlands and the UK.

Although law has become my main area of expertise throughout the years, I have – not surprisingly - also developed a passion for horticulture while living in the Netherlands. This has proved to be of benefit when translating agreements between growers or insurance terms for horticultural businesses (Interpolis). However, I have also had the opportunity to translate books, newsletters, press releases, general plant information (for labels) and whole websites from Dutch into German. Only recently, I have been asked to translate websites of companies participating in the Floriade 2012.

Since I have been working as a professional translator for 20 years, I have naturally come across a great variety of texts in other subject areas as well. These include tourism, environment, work & safety and even geology and dentistry. Thanks to my university education, I can adapt my style and register to any audience. And I do love a challenge!
