Bio
I grew up near New York City. I've lived in Japan for 10 years and am immersed in the language in my daily life, having little or no contact with other non-Japanese from day to day.

At the same time, I make sure I keep my English sharp by reading every day -- newspapers in the morning, books before bed. I also write for the regional expatriate magazine.

While I've translated Japanese texts on everything from building materials to food sanitation to music, there are plenty of subjects I have yet to encounter. I look on each new translation as an opportunity to gain new knowledge, and never send in a translation that isn't both faithful to the original and completely natural as English.

Past clients include the Japanese government, the Australian government, the city of Kobe, Kansai International Airport, Panasonic, Sharp, Sumitomo, and LVMH.
