The project manager oversees your project from beginning to end. He or she also
communicates with you throughout the process, so you’re aware of what’s going on every

a. Establish a production schedule and process catered to meet your specific needs.
b. Allocate the necessary resources.
c. Manage each phase of development and follow-up with involved personnel.
d. Implement quality assurance checks.
e. Report progress to you.
f. Solicit and incorporate your feedback.
g. Deliver the final product.
1. Confirm the accuracy of the translation and adjust the text if necessary.
2. Make sure the text is consistent with the software and the help system.
3. Re-check the graphics. Make sure they correlate with the newly translated
software and help system.
4. Finalize the layout. Confirm that the layout is consistent with the original
5. Confirm the quality of the finished product. Make sure everything is accurate,
consistent, and attractive.
6. Solicit and incorporate client feedback.
7. Check the quality of the new version again.
8. If requested, prepare computer files to go to the printer (output to postscript).
9. Deliver the final product.
Keeping track of every aspect of a project is no small task. That’s why we designed our own
internal tracking tool. Out Tool schedule and track each project task from beginning to end,
so we know the status of your project at each and every moment. This tool will
project the estimated cost and resources, and then monitor the actual expenses, so we can
make sure we are on track and make adjustments if necessary.
To keep you up-to-date, project managers provide regular status reports via e-mail, usually
on a weekly basis. They also make sure your questions, comments, or concerns get to the
right people, and that they are addressed as quickly as possible. The project manager
assigned to your project is your primary contact with LTA. He or she makes sure you’re
comfortable and satisfied every step of the way.
• Confirm the status and quality of your files to make sure we can access them and get the information we need.
• Create a project-specific task list that includes all elements of the translation process to
ensure that we do not miss anything.
• Create a project-specific task list that includes all desktop publishing elements and graphic requirements.
• Anticipate potential challenges and brainstorm solutions to ensure that nothing impacts the project schedule or quality.
• Repeatedly edit the translation to make sure everything is accurate and consistent (e.g., grammar, spelling, punctuation, word modifiers, style).
• Use Translation Memory and terminologists to ensure that the terminology is accurate and complete.
• Constantly review the text and make sure it corresponds with previously translated
materials (when available) and all other project elements (e.g., help system text vs. software text)
• Compare the final product with the original (copyedit), and make sure everything is
accurate and consistent with previous versions.
• Confirm that the graphics and screen shots are complete, that all reference items
(e.g., table of contents, index, title pages, page numbers, crop marks) are accurate, and that all fonts are correct.
• Double-check printer-ready files if requested, and create a pagination sheet.
We can provide 2500-3000 words per day per translator. Available over the weekends as well.
