La séparation des accès dus aux internautes de ceux dus aux robots pose parfois des problèmes. De plus, la mesure des accès attribués aux internautes est entachée d'une erreur due à la présence de mémoires caches (navigateur, serveur proxy, web-cache). La mesure d'audience à l'aide d'une "image de comptage" (cas particulier de marqueur) donne généralement un résultat plus proche de la réalité. On se sert souvent de l'image monopixel transparente, et on utilise une image distincte pour chaque page HTML du site. La présente note décrit l'introduction de cette nouvelle méthode au CERIG, et discute les résultats obtenus à la lueur du comportement de certains dispositifs (robots, aspirateurs de site, serveurs proxy et DHCP).
Translation - English The practice of measuring the audience of a website's pages, by using the server's journal file, has been in use for around the past 6 years. However, sometimes separating pageviews caused by Internet users, from those caused by robots is problematic. Furthermore, the measurement of pageviews attributed to Internet users is marred by a mistake caused by the presence of memory caches (browser, proxy server, web cache). Audience measurement with the help of a "counting image" (a particular type of marker) generally gives a result closer to the truth. Often a transparent monopixel image is used with a separate image for each HTML page on the site. This article outlines the introduction of this new method at CERIG, and discusses the results, in light of the behaviour of certain devices (robots, offline browsers, proxy servers and DHCP).
