Born in Tunisia, Othman Mathlouthi is a freelance English ↔ Arabic-French T&I with over 15 years of experience in the field. He began his career as an English language teacher. As a faculty member at the Higher Institute for Teachers' Training in Tripoli, he taught translation, linguistics and literature.
He is the translator of a number of books namely: Jacques Derrida's The Monolingualism of the Other. He is a literary critic who has published a number of essays in Arab papers and magazines. Mr. Mathlouthi has participated in many international events as a conference interpreter. He handles all sorts of texts and documents: Political and business documents; MOUs, contracts and tenders, literary and journalistic material, and even particulraly difficult texts with specialized language and terminology such as nuclear jargon. He holds a BA in English language and literature from the University of Tunis, two certificates from Christ Church- Canterbury, England, and a High Diploma in translation from the Academy for Graduate Studies, Libya. He is currently working on a MA dissertation in Translation.
