Professional practices Chris Tamigi endorses's Professional Guidelines (v1.1).
Native English speaker with over 10-years experience translating technical legal/financial documents from Italian to English for major law firms in Washington DC and, more recently, working as a freelance translator. While working as an in-house translator, I translated technical documents such as depositions, court transcripts, complex financial contracts and analyst reports.

In May 2016, I received a Master of Fine Arts in literary translation from the University of Arkansas (one of the few universities that offer such a program). Since I began the MFA program, I have expanded my practice to embrace more artistic/literary projects--translating two short stories that have been published in American literary magazines and working on translating a novel by a contemporary Italian author who was nominated for the Strega prize. This project won a PEN/Heim translation grant. I have also translated several articles on art, architecture and design.
