I'm an American car and motorcycle enthusiast who has spent more than 15 years in the Automotive industry, 5 of which in Germany. I started learning German at the age of 7 when the military assigned my father to Wiesbaden. He was a gifted shade-tree mechanic and I helped him tinker on other GI's German cars. That was when I felt a calling to things automotive and things German.
My undergraduate degrees are Physics and Mechanical Engineering, with which I started in the Aerospace industry. It wasn't long until I decided to go back to school and earn a Masters in International Business, specializing in German.
I've worked with BMW AG in Munich and BMW Manufacturing Corp. in South Carolina for more than 15 years in the areas of Engineering, Purchasing and Project Management. During this time I’ve created countless documents and translations in both languages in all aspects of the business. I continue to speak German on a daily basis with colleagues and suppliers.
If you google German translation rates, you’ll see that I’m way below anything a big translation house demands. Those people tend to be ivory tower educators, not people with years of industry experience. I am a results-driven person who will treat your job as my own. Thank you for a chance.
