English → Polish, Chinese → Polish technical translation
I have been a translator since 2004.
In addition to my linguistic expertise, I have also acquired an extensive hands-on experience and understanding of production processes, technology and equipment, especially in the fields of brass founding (as a QA manager for a faucet producer in China) and wood working (as a sales person for a scantlings factory in Poland).
I translate operator's manuals, safety data sheets and marketing materials. I localize industrial software from English into Polish and from Chinese into Polish.
Owing to my professional experience in fields other than translation, I am better prepared to deal with issues related to technology or business.
I do also translate financial documents and general humanities like history or tourism, but they do not strictly fall within the scope of my occupational expertise.
I am also a literary translator, in my spare time :).
I hold an MA degree in Chinese, which I received from the University of Warsaw.
I passed the 6th (i.e. the highest) level of the new Chinese Proficiency Test (known as HSK6).
I received my MA degree in English and Post-graduate Diploma in Translation from the Jagiellonian University.
I lived in China for more than 7 years.
Moreover, I am a part-time student at the Silesian University of Technology, majoring in mechanical engineering, with expected graduation in 2021.
My rate for Chinese to Polish translation is not "per word", as it has been misleadingly indicated above, but "per Chinese character". I am sorry I have not been able to choose "per Chinese character" in the profile settings, but no such option has been provided, simply.
