Professional practices Michael Markefka endorses's Professional Guidelines (v1.1).
Due to my wide-ranging interests, my translation specializations are balanced across a wider spectrum of fields. Still, I like to concentrate on legal and financial documents. With six years of law studies and working as the self-employed owner of a movie theater, running the back end as well as managing day-to-day operations, I consider myself well versed in the fields of business, law and customer service.

As far as literary works are concerned, my experience is based on years of literary studies as well as pursuing my own writing. I am an author seeking publication for novels in both languages, so I feel even more prepared to handle all the issues that can arise in trying to preserve an author's voice as well as his intentions, even across cultural gaps and linguistic idiosyncracies.

Rounding this off, another favorite area of mine to work in is the larger field of media, culture and technology. I ran my own blog on contemporary culture before my career took an even stronger hold of my time and attention, and worked for Germany's leading magazine for alternative music (VISIONS), where I was able to gain significant experience in working with modern media and marketing.
