This is Naoki Inumaru, a fulltime translator. I am working mainly for engineering documents, including patents and manuals for more than 7 years. I have been worked as a mechanical engineer for various industries in Japan and North America for about 25 years, so I understand quite wide range of engineering culture, including terminologies and expressions in both eastern and western countries. I am native of Japan and got master of technology degree in Japan.
After graduation, I started to work as a mechanical engineer in Japan. Then, I had a chance to work/study in Canada and US for total about 20 years. Based on this background, I got a lot of engineering feeling in North America and Japan. It is very important in the translation work.
Regarding patents, I am an inventor of dozens of patents in Japan, and some of them are also issued as a US patent and PCT. I worked from preparation of specifications to maintenance of them, so I experienced all phases of international patent issuance.
Regarding other engineering documents, such as manuals and spec sheets, I was a user and issuer of them in Japanese and English, so I understand what is the purpose of them and how they will be used, quite well.
I worked for about 800 patents/IP related documents and more than 500 technical documents, as a translator or editor/reviewer, so far. Now, I would like to work for more projects with your organization.
