***Dear All. I am on maternity leave until August 1 2011 and will not be available for any projects before that.***
My name is Ann-Cecilie "Cecilia" Davis. I work as a freelance translator and interpreter and enjoy that when I'm not working as a professional singer.
I graduated from NHH (Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration) where I did a one year diploma course in English Business Language and Translation in 2002, and have since worked freelance, a way of working that suits me and my travelling spirit very well.
My love for the English language started at a very young age with my grandfather almost only speaking English to me in order for me to learn. In school it was my favourite subject closely followed by Norwegian. The most important thing I ever did to learn English, however, was going to Australia on a high school exchange when I was 17. I lived in Sydney and went to an all girls high school. A year that changed my life and certainly taught me English in a way I don't think is possible in a Norwegian classroom. Choosing a profession that would allow me to endulge in the English language on a daily basis was therefore a given.
I studied at Oslo College (English Foundation Course), at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen (English Business Language and Translation) and at The University of Southern Denmark, Odense (English and German Business Language), and I speak English and Danish fluently. As I went to a Nynorsk primary and secondary school I am also fluent in Nynorsk Norwegian, and I can translate shorter, non-technical German texts upon request.
I have gained several clients who now use me exclusively for all their translation needs, and I work in-house for a large import company where I translate user manuals mainly.
I am conscientious, trustworthy and deliver on time.
