Source text - Korean (전주=연합뉴스) 백도인 기자 = 학력을 낮춰 현대자동차에 입사한 생산직 사원들의 채용이 취소된 사실이 뒤늦게 확인됐다.
현대차 전주공장은 "올 4월 채용한 생산직 근로자 400여 명 가운데 5명이 4년제 대학을 졸업하고서도 고등학교 졸업으로 학력을 속인 사실이 드러나 지난 5월 이들의 채용을 취소했다"고 27일 밝혔다.
현대차 관계자는 "채용 취소는 생산직 근로자의 응시 자격을 고등학교 및 전문대 졸업자로 제한한 회사 취업규칙을 위반한 데 따른 조치"라고 설명했다.
현대차는 신입 사원들의 인사기록 카드를 점검하는 과정에서 뒤늦게 이런 사실을 발견했으며, 이는 과거에도 있었던 일인 것으로 알려졌다.
하지만 현대차의 이번 조치를 놓고 일각에서는 지나치게 가혹한 처사가 아니냐는 논란이 일고 있다.

The late discovery of this rule breech has led the company to believe it may have happened before.
Some believe that this move to remove the employees is too severe for the infraction.
