I studied German, English and Dutch at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, Germany, and at the Rijksuniversiteit Leiden in the Netherlands. I graduated from university in 2001 and earned the degree of Magister Artium. I followed my first degree with a degree in postgraduate studies in literary translation. I completed the study “Literarisches Übersetzen aus dem Niederländischen“ in 2002. Since 2001 and 2002, respectively, I work as a freelance translator for the translation bureaus Wendt Vertalingen in the Netherlands and Alfabet bvba in Belgium. So far, I have translated texts with various subjects: law, trade and industry, finance, administration, technology, academia and medicine as well as web pages, advertising, manuals, handbooks and the like. Other jobs include the translation of a book (as co-translator) and an article for an anthology.
Computer skills include Windows, MS Office, various dictionaries on CD-ROM and online, Trados and the Internet.
