Source text - English -- Raritan Appoints Rasul Damji to Vice President of Product Operations --
SOMERSET, N.J. (February 15, 2006) - Raritan - a leading provider of solutions for managing IT infrastructure - today announced that Rasul Damji has been named Vice President of Product Operations. He will report to Thomas Swift, President and Chief Operating Officer of Raritan.
In the newly created position, Damji will be responsible for worldwide product management, engineering, and manufacturing and sourcing for Raritan's IT management offerings, which include remote access-and-control and service-management solutions, and embedded products.
“Rasul has a solid track record of applying technology and innovation to meet customer needs,” said Swift. “His abilities to grow profitable software businesses and lead successful teams across multiple disciplines will contribute greatly to Raritan's leadership in providing solutions that simplify IT management for businesses.”
Damji has more than 20 years of high-tech experience in developing and managing organizations - ranging from business units at AT&T and Lucent to startups.
Damji was Vice President-Network Engineering and Operation at AT&T, where he was responsible for network engineering and planning, as well as supporting numerous new market initiatives. Damji held a number of other positions at AT&T, including Vice President-Local Network Services and Vice President-Broadband Product Management.
At Lucent Technologies, as Vice President-Software Products Group, Damji built a profitable billing mediation software business and created an organization to bring to market communications software products based on new technologies developed at Bell Labs.
As an entrepreneur, Damji has created several businesses. He launched GovXcel, a company that provides software solutions to local governments, and co-founded Innovative Capital Partners LLC based in Bridgewater, NJ, a business development and capital investment firm. He also was involved in starting several business units for Lucent and AT&T.
“I am very excited to be part of Raritan and to support the company's charter of creating and introducing innovative solutions to simplify IT management,” said Damji. “There are vast opportunities for Raritan in the IT service management space.”

The moon waxes and weans, the year a continuous cycle of seasons. People are always going through the cycle of birth and death, with happiness and sorrow of meeting and parting. Life is unpredictable, and seldom do things turn out the way you expect them to. This is a fact held true since the dawn of time.
I knew that my father was so sick he could no longer be helped by modern medicine, and that his life was coming to an end. Though I already foresaw death coming, I could not help but feel heartbroken when the moment actually arrived. I reminisced about past days when I lived under the care of my parents. They shared the joy of my triumphs, bitterness of my difficulties, and pain of my failures. They consoled me and provided me with strength to work my way to the top. Now, all of a sudden I have lost my support. Afraid and despondent, I lament that, “winds will not stop when trees yearn to be still, parents will not wait until their child is ready to support them.” Things in life are diverse and complex; yet do not stray from some sort of order. After profound reflection, I’ve discovered how to live life through both order and chaos. I now share my thoughts with you.
