I am a freelance translator (graduated at one of the best schools in Europe) during the winter, and a bicycle tour leader in the summer.
My specilizations all stem out of my personal passions.
My old love for the cinema led me to take an optional university course and write my dissertation about translating subtitles. It still pushes me to watch undubbed movies and, possibly, translate them for home audiences.
The same goes for my love of a good storyteller which, I believe, makes me a good re-teller.
Tourism is my second profession, and translating any literature about it is always welcome from an insider's point of view.
I have always been fond of sports and am mostly familiar with cycling, volleyball and baseball. And also a little with the aspects of nutrition related to sport and outdoor activities.
In my past freelancer activity I worked extensively for the computer industry (mostly software, online help and websites), starting from my early belief that computing was going to provide new and powerful means of communication.
I am fascinated by psychology, and feel that my related translation experience is always too small.
A final word about the textile industry. Not unusually, I found my first work opportunity in dad's business: it was a dyeing factory and there I learned something about fibres, yarns, fabrics and color.
