Japanese to English: Photoelectric Rotational Angle Sensor Patent
In order to solve the problem above the sensor functions as follows. As light passes through the slit from projector to the receiving side the receptor captures the beam as a "spot" ray on a rounded belt apparatus. The first part is a circular band receptor positioned against the slit disk and the second part sits in line next to the first; both are constructed of electrically conductive material that holds the beam's electric charge. Because of this two part construction and use of materials that can hold the photoelectric charge "spot" beam reception is possible. The device captures short bursts of light and extrapolates angularity using the detected intervals.
