Une définition large du sponsoring sportif repose sur la notion d’échange entre une institution marchande ou non-marchande et un organisateur d’événement sportif (ou une équipe, une personne y participant). Le sponsor apporte un soutien financier et/ou en marchandises et prestations, en échange d’éléments d’image et de notoriété, le plus souvent. A côté d’opérations classiques visant des publics externes étendus – prospects, usagers – se développent, de plus en plus, des actions ciblées sur des publics de proximité – partenaires de l’institution – et internes – le personnel. Nous proposons une définition actualisée du sponsoring sportif prenant en compte ces nouveaux objectifs.
Translation - English Summary
A broad definition of sports sponsorship lies in the concept of exchange. This exchange may be between a commercial or non commercial institution and an organizer of a sporting event (or a team, or a person participating in the sporting event). Usually the sponsor supports an event financially or through the provision of products or services in exchange for brand recognition and notoriety. In addition to the traditional operations targeting the public at large – prospective customers, end users – today more and more operations are targeted at the immediate public, institution partners and the internal public, in other words the personnel. We propose an updated definition of sports sponsorship taking into account these new objectives.
